Minister Leads Campaign Against Rape
The
Ministry of Youth Development is set to host an international
conference to sensitise Nigerians on the need to change their attitudes
and behaviours that could lead to violence against women.
The Minister of Youth Development, Mallam
Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement and said that the White
Ribbon conference with the theme, “Rape and Sexual Violence on Young
Nigerian Women” was an international campaign worldwide to stop violence
against women.
The minister also said that the vision was to prevent violence against women and change the world for better.
The event which is scheduled for December 5, Abdullahi said, “is to mark the commitment to and stand up for the women as well as condemn men’s violence against women.
